The Combined Open Style was developed by the late Grand Master, Body Builder and Action Movie Star Roland Dantes. A senior Master in Modern Arnis under the direct tutalage of GM Remy Presas founder of Modern Arnis.

As well as this the Combined Open Style also draws from knowledge from many other FMA styles as Gm Dantes also trained with many other top GM's of the FMA such as GM Ben Lima - Lightning Scientific Arnis, GM Johnny Chiuten, GM Filimon Caburany - Lapunti Arnis De Abanico, GM Antonio Ilustrisimo - Ilustrisimo Style, GM Jose Mena - Mena Style/Doblete Rapilon, GM Dr. Giullermo Lengson - Kafephil / Arfephil / Sagasa, GM Cacoy Canete - Doce Pares, GM Porfilio Lanada - Landa Arnis, PG Edgar Sulite - De Campo Caballero Style / LAMECO Eskrima, GM Jose Villasin - Balintawak, GM Chris Ricketts - Bakbakan and GM Leo Gaje to name but a few.

It was through his vast knowledge passed on to him by many great Grand Masters that GM Roland Dantes formed his own unique system of Filipino martial arts.

GM Danetes left a handfull of highly qualified students to carry on his legacy, and the hier to the system is his long time personal student David Foggie who is based in Australia.
